You don’t need
perfect words
to talk to God.
Bring what’s on your heart. We’ll help you find a place to begin, one simple prayer at a time.
What’s on your heart?
Choose a starting point. There’s no right or wrong place to begin.
A record of your walk with God.
Write what’s on your heart. Return to it when you need to remember.
Past prayers
You don’t have to carry it alone.
The future community wall will let people share requests and pray for one another.
You can learn to pray.
You don’t need a script, special language, or a perfect life to begin.
Talk to God as you are.
Prayer is turning toward God with honesty and trust. Jesus taught His followers to pray to their Father. You can start with “Father, I’m here,” then tell Him what’s on your heart.
What can I say?
Thank Him for something. Tell Him what is difficult. Ask for help for yourself or another person. Ask for forgiveness or wisdom. These are invitations, not a formula you have to complete.
Can I pray silently?
Yes. You can pray out loud, in your thoughts, or in writing. Find a way that helps you give God your attention.
There is room for honesty.
What if I don’t know what to say?
Try “God, I don’t know how to pray right now. Please help me.” You can also begin with a Psalm, read it slowly, and respond in your own words.
What if I don’t feel better?
Prayer doesn’t always bring an immediate feeling of relief. You can keep bringing your grief, doubts, and needs to God. A trusted pastor or friend can pray alongside you.
What if the answer isn’t what I hoped?
Christians bring their requests to God while trusting His wisdom. Prayer is not a guarantee of a particular outcome. Jesus Himself prayed, “not my will, but thine, be done” (Luke 22:42, KJV).
The Lord’s Prayer
Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.
Notice its movement: honor God, welcome His will, ask for daily needs, seek forgiveness, and ask for protection.
Start with three minutes.
One minute to pause. Put your phone aside and remember you are coming to God.
One minute to speak. Thank Him, name your concern, and ask for help.
One minute to reflect. Read a verse slowly. Consider one faithful step you can take today.
